Avoid duplicate ideas

Updated on 09.07.2026

So the same idea doesn't come up multiple times, the platform points out similar, already-existing ideas as you type the title. That way you can pool your votes — and moderators can merge real duplicates.

Watch the suggestions when submitting

As soon as you enter the title on the „Submit idea“ page, the platform automatically searches for similar ideas and shows them to you. Take a look before you submit.

Vote instead of duplicating

If your idea already exists, open it and vote for it or add a comment. That gives the existing idea more weight instead of splitting the votes across several proposals.

Merge duplicates (as a moderator)

If the same idea does end up in the system multiple times, you can mark a proposal as „Duplicate of …“. The proposal then points to the original, so discussion and attention stay pooled there.

FAQ

Why do I see other ideas as I type?

That's the duplicate detection: it searches for similar, already-existing ideas so you can review them before creating a new one.

Is my idea marked as a duplicate automatically?

No. The suggestions are just a hint — you decide whether to submit your idea anyway. Only moderation can mark it as a duplicate, by hand.

What happens to an idea marked as a duplicate?

It's kept but points to the original. That way votes and discussion stay pooled in one place.
