Invite moderators
Updated on 08.07.2026
Don't want to run the participation platform alone? Invite colleagues and make them moderators — so you share approvals, status updates and settings.
Invite a colleague
In your instance, open the „Invite“ page, enter the email address and send the invitation. The person receives an email with a sign-in link. Alternatively, they can also sign in directly with their mobile number.
Wait for the first sign-in
The invited person signs in once — via SMS code or, if set up, via single sign-on. A „User“ account is created automatically in the process.
Make them a moderator
Go to Moderation → Users, find the person and click „Edit“. In the dialog, change the „Role“ field from „User“ to „Moderator“ and save.
Done
The person now has access to the moderation area and can approve ideas, change statuses and manage settings. Every change is recorded in the log.
What moderators can do
- Approve or reject ideas and comments
- Update the status of ideas and publish updates
- Manage users — invite, mark as trusted, block
- Adjust the look & feel, categories and settings
- View analytics and maintain legal texts
FAQ & troubleshooting
I can't find the person in the user list
The person only appears after they've signed in at least once. Ask them to open the invitation link and sign in — after that they appear under Moderation → Users.
Can I invite someone directly as a moderator?
No. An invitation always creates a user account first. You grant the moderator role afterwards in user management — this is intentional, so no one can moderate without your approval.
Can I remove my own role?
No, you can't remove your own moderator role or block yourself. Ask another moderator to make such changes to your account.
