Student council (SV)
The student council (Schülervertretung, SV) is the elected body that represents pupils’ interests to the school and teachers.
The student council — in some German states called Schülermitverantwortung (SMV) — is elected by the student body and brings its concerns into the school’s committees. It organises projects, mediates in conflicts and actively helps shape school life.
Good council work depends on many taking part — not only the elected representatives. A digital place where everyone can submit ideas and vote makes the council visible and clearly lowers the barrier to participation.
Tasks of the student council
- Represent the student body’s interests
- Organise projects and activities
- Take part in school committees
- Mediate between students and the school
With MyIdeas, the student council collects the whole school’s ideas digitally, lets everyone vote and shows transparently what gets implemented.
