Future workshop

The future workshop (Zukunftswerkstatt) is a creative participation method that develops solutions together in three phases: from critique through fantasy to implementation.

A future workshop runs through three phases: in the critique phase the current situation is named openly, in the fantasy phase visions emerge without limits, and in the implementation phase these become concrete, workable steps. Facilitation and clear rules keep the process open and productive.

The method goes back to Robert Jungk and is especially suited when a group wants to develop new ideas for a topic or place. Digital tools help to collect, bundle and later follow up on the many ideas.

The three phases

  • Critique phase: name the current situation
  • Fantasy phase: visions without limits
  • Implementation phase: concrete steps
  • Facilitation and clear rules

After a future workshop, MyIdeas holds on to the ideas: collect, prioritise and use the roadmap to show what gets implemented.
