E-participation

E-participation moves classic participation online: residents inform themselves, discuss, submit ideas and vote — from anywhere, around the clock. It does not replace in-person formats but extends them and lowers the barrier to taking part.

Typical building blocks are information portals, online consultations, digital participatory budgets and idea platforms. Success depends on transparency, data protection and low-barrier access so that as many people as possible can join.
